Bars come in many shapes and forms in Valencia; from the quiet cafe terraces in the El Carmen area, many of which are old houses that have been converted, to the all night bars with dance floors that look more like clubs than bars on the sea front, and the many live music venues dotted around town. Generally speaking, Thursday and Friday are the best days to go out in winter if you want to mix with the local student population and not before 11pm.
